East African air­space shut down in mid-March in an at­tempt to pre­vent the spread of coro­n­avirus.  Now, as air­ports across the re­gion pre­pare to re­open, it is vi­tal for the safety of both staff and pas­sen­gers, that all in­volved in the avi­a­tion in­dus­try are trained and well versed in how to deal with COVID-19 and other in­fec­tious dis­eases. EAC-CASSOA OPERATIONAL ACTIONS IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC

The rapid spread of Novel Corona Virus 2019 (COVID-19) across the world has been attributed to human mobility across countries, largely driven by air travel. Needless to say, many of the confirmed COVID-19 cases in the EAC region have also had a history of air travel. It is important to note that some airline operators are based in or transit through the East African Community Partner States, and operate direct flights into the affected Region. (more…)

M/s Emily, Employee of the year!

18th December 2019. As we mark the end of the year, in an effort to appreciate good work the Agency recognized M/s Emily Bukebuke as the employee of the year. The Principal Human Resources and Administration for CASSOA, Mr Charles Rukikanshuro handed over a certificate to Emily on behalf of the Management. M/s Emily Bukebuke has been working with CASSOA for the last two years as a Procurement Assistant. (more…)

29th August 2019. Four Legislators from the Senate of the Republic of Kenya made a visit to EAC CASSOA offices on 27th August 2019. Senator Pareno Judith, Senator Enoch Wambua, Senator Chebeni Mercy and Senator Gona Zawadi who are members of the committee on National Cohesion, Equal Opportunity and Regional Integration had a one day visit to CASSOA aimed at understanding what the Agency does and benefits Kenyans and the people of East Africa can draw from the works of the Agency. Sen. Judith Pareno said, “We are basically on a mission to understand our Institutions and see what we can do as Legislators to make our Integration smooth”. (more…)
