EAC Examination Experts MeetingEmilius Sasiyo
11th June ,2018. A meeting of EAC Examinations Pool of Experts is on going at EAC CASSOA offices from 11th to 15th June, 2018. The meeting is expected to do the following in the next four days;
- Review & develop procedures for Automatic Validation of Licences in the EAC Region;
- Review Model EAC Examinations Procedures Manual;
- Develop Practical Skill tests procedures for AMEL; and
- Review & develop standardized Examiner’s qualifications & designation procedures.
Examination Pool of experts comprises of TWO AMEL Experts, TWO ATPL Experts, TWO ATC Experts and Two PEL Experts from EAC Civil Aviation Authorities.
The EAC civil aviation examination system is an initiative launched in May 2014 and which aims to establish a common computerised personnel licensing examination system for aviation professionals in the region including pilots, flight engineers, aircraft maintenance engineers, air traffic controllers and flight operations officers.
The overall goal of this initiative is to improve the safety of civil aviation within the region through harmonisation of examination questions for aviation personnel. The system, which is a first for a regional economic community on the continent, is targeted to have a databank of 20,000 questions.
