EU ASA Project
19th Sept. 2019. The first EU Africa Safety in Aviation (EU ASA) project steering committee meeting kicks off in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. EAC CASSOA as a Regional Safety Oversight Organization is well represented through our Director – Technical Eng. Mohamed Besta.
The project is expected to support Sub-Saharan Africa region in improving aviation safety. The member states will be assisted in meeting their obligation as per the Chicago convention. The project will adopt a regional approach to achieve its objective in collaboration with ICAO, AFCAC and RSOOs.
The specific four expected results of the project are; reinforced RSOOs, improved safety oversight regulatory environment, enhanced safety oversight implementation and implementation of safety data collection and analysis.
