Hon. SG Meets CASSOA staff
17th May 2021, the newly appointed Secretary General of East African Community Hon. Dr. Peter Mathuki visited the Agency on Friday 14th May 2021. The Speaker of East African Legislative Assembly Rt. Hon. Martin Ngoga, Judge President of the East African Court of Justice Hon. Justice Nestor Kayobera and other member of staff from EAC accompanied him.
This was a planned visit by Hon. SG to EAC Institutions aiming at familiarizing with activities of EAC Institutions and sharing of experiences and challenges facing institutions that CASSOA is one of them.
CASSOA staff together with the Executive Director Mr. Emile Arao received the delegation. Mr. Arao welcomed Hon. Dr. Mathuki to Entebbe and CASSOA in particular, he explained the mandate of the agency and achievement made since its inception. The Secretary General promised to provide continuous support to CASSOA in order for the Agency to continue assisting partner states in meeting their safety and security oversight obligation among other objectives.
Hon. Dr. Mathuki asked each member of staff to work diligently so that together they achieve agency’s objectives that feeds into the bigger picture of the community.
Hon. Chrostopher Bazivamo, the Deputy Secretary General in charge of productive & social sector, Director General of Customs & Trade Mr. Keneth Bagamuhunda and the Register of East African Court of Justice Mr. Yufnali Okubo were among member of staff from EAC who accompanied the Secretary General.
Lillian Mwenda delivered a Vote of thanks on behalf of the agency; she appreciated Hon. SG and his delegation for visiting CASSOA and wished them a safe journey back to head quarters.
