“I found a better CASSOA than the one I saw”, Says Sen. Judith Pareno

29^th August 2019. Four Legislators from the Senate of the Republic of Kenya made a visit to EAC CASSOA offices on 27^th August 2019. Senator Pareno Judith, Senator Enoch Wambua, Senator Chebeni Mercy and Senator Gona Zawadi who are members of the committee on National Cohesion, Equal Opportunity and Regional Integration had a one day visit to CASSOA aimed at understanding what the Agency does and benefits Kenyans and the people of East Africa can draw from the works of the Agency. Sen. Judith Pareno said, “We are basically on a mission to understand our Institutions and see what we can do as Legislators to make our Integration smooth”. (more…)

Republic of Kenya takes over chairmanship.

26^th August 2019. Captain Gilbert Kibe is now the Chairman of the EAC CASSOA Board, during the 47^th Board meeting held in Zanzibar between 15^th and 16^th August 2019 Mr. Hamza S. Johari (DG TCAA) handed over the chairmanship to Director General, Kenya Civil Aviation Authority Capt. Gilbert M. Kibe. (more…)

Notice is hereby given of the Forty-Seventh Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency (CASSOA) Board Meeting to be held on Thursday, 15th to Friday, 16th August 2019 in Zanzibar, United Republic of Tanzania. The 47th Board Meeting will be preceded by the upcoming 3rd EAC-CASSOA Board Retreat scheduled for Monday the 12th of August to Wednesday, 14th August 2019 also in Zanzibar

ICAO SG visits CASSOA, had talks with staff and experts from member states.

CASSOA engaging Aviation stakeholders across the region

^4th April 2019. EAC CASSOA Team has just concluded four missions in Partner States aiming at engaging Aviation stake holders on the matter of Agency’s sustainable funding mechanism. Republic of Burundi was the first country to host CASSOA Team followed by the Republic of Kenya, United Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Uganda. Republic of South Sudan and Republic of Rwanda will be the next countries to be visited by the team. (more…)

Primary Civil Aviation Legislation development

11 March, 2019. EAC CASSOA is hosting a working group meeting from 11^th to 15^th March 2019 tasked to review and finalize the draft primary civil aviation legislation. The team comprises of FSS Experts, Legal experts, draft person and aircraft accident and incident investigators. (more…)

Examination pool of expert meeting concludes in Dar es salaam.

1^st March, 2019. Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority hosted a team of experts in Dar es salaam – Tanzania for a two weeks meeting. The meeting was organized by EAC CASSOA with experts from member states in attendance. The team was tasked to review; automatic validation of PEL Project, ATC, FCL and AMEL questions, ATC syllabus and input from EASA, B1/B2 licensing system and also among others upload reviewed questions into EAC examination system. Working group meeting to review the model EAC civil aviation regulation

18^th Feb, 2019. EAC CASSOA organized a joint Working Group meeting of AVSEC experts, Legal Experts and Drafts persons to review the harmonised Civil Aviation (Security) Regulations in line with provisions of ICAO Annex 17. This meeting was opened by Ag. ED Mr Philbert Bakilana and is expected to run for five days. (more…)
